I think it must be the same for 1-800 operators. If the caller is nice, the operator would connect the call to the right line right away. If not, they'd make you wait longer and pass you around.

Actually, I'm not so sure about her affiliation, but she was the one in charge of filing/signing the medical exam form for consultations. She was the lady who had dark skin, Tina Turner hair, and really long fuschia pink nails. Peter told me about an episode where he had to go there, I've forgotten why, and she gave him a big needle.
