Site Meter

There's a corner on this page that counts the number of visitors that visit my little niche on the web here. I got the counter free from sitemeter.com. It emails me weekly reports on the site traffic. It can show me the domain names and IP addresses of whoever visits my site (no specifics) and a breakdown of visitors by geography. I thought that my audience consisted of only about 5 or 6 people. After reading the most recent site report, I happily noted that I have 1 or 2 readers from Europe (UK, I think; I have no idea who) and several from 3 different time zones in the US (or Canada; I can account for 2 time zones). I'm not trying to trace who my readers are and I certainly don't plan to start stalking them. I'm just happily surprised that I do have other readers outside of the usual people who post comments. The hits on my website may be purely accidental or referred from search engines but I don't really care. Hehe. I just wish whoever reads my posts react to it and tell me what they think. Cheers!

Incidentally, I think that sitemeter's currently having a glitch. (Dya also see the referring URL/search word used to get to your site? hehe)

So it's almost 1pm there and almost 10pm the previous day over here. I'm procrastinating from studying, but I should get to it ASAP. Sorry I haven't e-mailed in such a long time! Kind of a strange summer for me. Once summer school ends I'll probably have plenty of time to catch up with everyone. Hope you're doing well and hanging in there with clerkship!

I swore to myself that I'd never get a hit counter (the writing is more important than being read). Sometime around the beginning of August I broke down and installed a basic counter. To my surprise, people are actually reading what I write. Most just don't comment.

You should try statcounter.com they provide a better counter design and statistics.

A statistic counter can tell a lot about our visitors.
