Jesus put a song in my heart

Are you familiar with that song "Jesus put a song in my heart"? I think it was in Kids Praise 4. Psalty the Singing Songbook? Charity Church Mouse? The 80's kids who grew up in Sunday School would know them. On my birthday this year, I got unsually inspired while having my quiet time and it literally happened. Jesus really put a song in my heart! It's based on Psalm 5 (NKJV). The Lord just brought me to that passage that night and it was as if He was speaking directly to me through David's words. I have always been hesitant to share my songs with other people (I've never published a single poem but some people have read some of them). This time though, I just knew that somehow, God would use my song to touch the lives of other people in its own little way. I'm singing it tomorrow at church, as part of the Praise and Worship line-up. I'm praying not that people would like it but that people would hear God speaking to them through the words.

I Will Come Into Your House
Based on Psalm 5 (NKJV)

Chorus
As for me, I will come into Your house
In the multitude of Your mercy, I will come
As for me, I will come into Your house
In the multitude of Your mercy, I will come

Father, give ear to my words
Consider my meditation, O Lord
Give heed to my cry, my God and my King
In the morning I rise and You shall hear my voice
In the morning, I lift my eyes to You.

Father, take pleasure in my life
Like a shield, surround me with Your love
Magnify Yourself in my life, O God
In the morning I rise and You shall hear my voice
In the morning, I lift my eyes to You.

I loved Psalty the Singing Songbook!!! Didn't Charity solo on that song? I can't remember. Actually, when I was about 5 or 6, my mom directed a couple of Psalty musicals at my old Baptist church. It was sooo much fun. Anyway, I wish I could be inspired enough to write songs! That's so neat that God led you to write that. I love Psalm 5. I thought it was cool how you incorporated different parts of the chapter into your song and made it your own. Next time I'm in the Philippines I'll have to hear it. Did you know there's another song on Psalm 5? It's fairly common here... I dunno about there. It's just on the first 3 verses. It always reminds me of how much I really don't talk to God and how much more I need to depend on Him. I love songs like that. Anyway, thanks for sharing your song. You should share more often! ;o)
